I gained quite a bit of weight on lexapro so i switched to wellbutrin i have lost over 75 lbs since switching i stopped taking lexapro for about 2 years but added 10 mg back a few months ago i have not gained any weight from this combination hope this helps. Lexapro can cause changes in weight there are some reports that people begin to lose weight when first taking lexapro, but this finding is not well supported by research studies another study. Changed to lexapro to drop the weight, and i can tell you that stringent diet and exercise (4 times a week, a 1200 calorie diet) has only allowed me to lose 15 of those pounds in the last 4 years. some people don't gain weight on lexapro, but many people do, and i know that it has prevented me from losing the weight i gained on paxil.. Hi aamamc; as you have read by many very few people really gain weight with lexapro. and as long as you continue the weight and good choices of eating you well be just fine. lots of people on this have not gained weight, just remember that the side effects you get right off if any most the time well go away within a few weeks and it takes 6 to 8 weeks to get the true blood level at where it is.
